So the next morning after having a swim in the pool I decided to do Vegas some shopping. I ended up with some gifts for home, a pair of Seven for all mankind jeans for myself, some tee’s from Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, polos from Juicy Couture Dirty English collection, a really cool top from Armani Exchange and a matching necklace from there and I got Jewel the cutest Michael Kors purse.
So when we got to Las Vegas we had some alone time for shower and a change of clothing. Dinner at the Hard Rock Café, I had the salmon, it was amazing. Afterwards our Hummer Limo picked us up for an two hour drive around Vegas, dropping us of at the Palms where we went to the Ghost bar. Located on the 55th floor viewing all of Las Vegas. A trip at the Playboy club and then into Bellagio hotel for some gambling.
When in the south one has to do some awesome horseback riding down by the sunset. When we got to Pariah Canyon I met Jim, my beautiful stallion that took me for an awesome ride and then ended up partying in a barn á la southern style.
Leaving the Grand Canyon we stopped by Lake Powell that is a big part of the canyon, a beautiful man made lake where we had a swim to chill our hot bodies down. It was a beautiful scenery I must say.
So yet another early morning for some sunrise and then we hiked down the canyon. I chose to hike the hard hike, the bright angel trail, six American miles down to the canyon. It was hot, hard and adventures, but I had the best time ever. Going down was easy, just walking downwards, going up was like a slow death. There will be movie clips on facebook shortly after my return.
After seeing the canyon we drove to the camp site where we had lunch and off to the Grand Canyon Airport for a helicopter flight over the canyon. Our pilot Shane made sure that we all saw what we needed and I had the best time ever. Although it was really scary I must say. I did purchase the DVD of our tour for ya’ll to see it when I come home.
A few hours of driving later we arrived to the Grand Canyon. Andrew, our trek leader had told us to draw each others faces on paper bags and he put them on us and revealed the canyon to us after getting our picture taken.
When in New Mexico we went to Monument Valley, where the native Americans, the Navajo people have their grounds and live. Not all of them, but some of them. After a jeep ride in the desert of Monument Valley we had dinner with the Navajo and visited their homes. Saw a little bit of what they do and how they live.
The morning after we got up to watch the sunrise at five in the morning, I wasn’t in my best morning mood but I always make sure to strike a pose for the camera.
Another thing we had to see was the UFO Museum in Roxwell, New Mexico. I dont really know if I believe in aliens and ufo’s so from my point of view I would have rather gone window shopping, but it was fun, cant deny that.
Something one has to do when visiting America is watching a movie at the drive in. We got tickets for Eclipse when visiting New Mexico (and yes I know I have already seen it) so we buckled up outside, underneath the clear sky, and a hint of rain and watched the love between Edward, Bella and Jacob.
Seeing on of the coolest thing of my life was when we went to Carlsbad Caverns. According to Wikipedia ”Carlsbad Caverns includes a large cave chamber, the Big Room, a natural limestone chamber which is almost 4,000 feet (about 1,219 m) long, 625 feet (190.5 m) wide, and 350 feet (about 107 m) high at the highest point. It is the third largest chamber in North America and the seventh largest in the world.”
After a night in the tents in the totally pitch dark desert, where my friend Joe got attacked by raccoons we decided the next morning to stroll around for some hiking. I love how you don’t need to go to IKEA for seeing some cactus.
So after stopping by and having lunch in Fredriksburg, Texas we continued our trip to the deserts of Texas ending up in Fort Stockton where the snakes were everywhere and the sky was as blue as it could be. Ive never experienced anything so hot as the deserts of Texas.
Getting down to our campground we threw ourselves in the pool for some relaxation and before getting ready for a BBQ dinner and a night on town. Wow, I really love Texas and feel that if Id had a drivers license I would so have moved down here.
Oh yeah, I forgot! When we were in Ocoee, Tennessee we all went whitewater rafting with Adventures Unlimited. I just found the picture from it. I was terrified but it was so much fun, ya’ll should try it out some day.
So my first night in Austin, Texas. We are at a really nice spot here with WiFi (thank god) and going out for some drinks soon. It is about a hundred degrees but I simply couldn’t have been happier.
So sleeping yet again in tents in Louisiana, the home of Britney Spears we woke up to a really nasty caution. See pictures down below.
The next day before leaving New Orleans we head of to find some alligators and see the swamp. We saw a bunch of gators, some exotic birds and lots of gum trees.
After breakfast and a few painkillers to basically kill our hangover we walked downtown the french quarter for some lunch and shopping. After sightseeing the touristy parts I decided to go to Saks for some real shopping. I ended up getting a Marc by Marc Jacobs t-shirt, a Banana Republic t-shirt, new Havaianas, a scarf and sunglasses.
After a few nights of camping in tents and living country style we checked into our New Orleans hotel, quick shower and down on town for a night of partying. Apparently there are more places in the US that never sleeps. This jazz town was full of happy people trying to get their freak on.
